Mandibuzz

Mandibuzz [NU] Spr_5b_630

Abilities:
Big Pecks
Overcoat
Weak Armor

Stats:

HP:110
Atk:65
Def:105
SpA:55
SpD:95
Spe:80

Total:510

Placed Tier: (NU)

Type: Dark/Flying

Mandibuzz is a physical wall with excellent Hit Points and very good Defense, her Special Defense and Speed are decent. She is unaffected by ground and psychic attacks and has access to a small but good movepool.

Set #1: (Foul Play?)

Item: Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Defense, 4 Special Defense
Nature: Bold

- Attract
- Swagger
- Roost
- Foul Play

Set Explanation: First of all I just want to say that Mandibuzz with this set should be considered OU or at least UU without a doubt. I take this Mandibuzz to OU all the time and for lack of a better word-rape. With EV's invested in HP and Defense she is a physical wall who can roost off damage. The strategy here is very simple yet amazingly effective. You can use attract and swagger to make an opposing pokemon unlikely to make a move plus, swagger boosts their Attack, thus powering up Foul Play. Too easy. If you don't know how Foul Play works-the damage it causes is based off of the attack stat of the opposing pokemon. The higher their attack the more damage Foul Play does. I choose Overcoat as an ability because there are a lot of Sandstorm teams in OU, being immune to Sand Storm and Hail Storm damage is a nice perk. I truly believe Mandibuzz should be moved up in tier, too often I've swept entire teams with her. Try her out you'll see what I mean.

Counters: Special Electric types are her biggest threats naturally but, not physical electric types her defensive prowess is great, even being able to absorb strong stone edges and roosting them off. The single biggest threat I've found with this Mandibuzz is Toxic. Do your best to avoid being badly poisoned by Toxic I find it the biggest hinderance to her.

Even the toxic problem can be worked around if you have a cleric. Does Mandibuzz get Flatter?
Either way, awesome set.
