Before we begin I'd like to talk about my process for making this team. I didn't get many set suggestions so it's a little disappointing and some random EV's that I pulled out of my ass, but it all worked out in the end. The team has a pretty solid basis, but it needs A LOT more work to become a solid OU team. These are random movesets that I thought looked good so bear with me please haha. With that being set, let's begin.
Lead- Manectric
There was no real discernible lead so I decided that a little switcheroo would have to do. In the RU tier manectric is a complete and utter boss, but in OU he has troubles for sure. So to begin the opponent brings in his lead and you use switcheroo to hand off the scarf to the unlucky 'mon. This is where his usefulness ends. The ideal thing to do is to use volt switch to scout, but he is often out sped. HP grass and overheat are there for coverage.
Support/wall breaker- Mismagius
I was a little apprehensive at first when I was putting in this little guy. Who can blame me? Look at that HP and Def! I put this set in thinking that i'd for sure take it out later, but I was pleasantly surprised. If someone puts in their stall thinking that he's going to fuck you over than they're pleasantly mistaken. Throw out that status and a taunt then the opposing pokemon will be nothing but a target. A certified support beast.
Certified tank- Dragonite
What can I say? He takes hits and deals them twice as hard. He is one of the main offensive options of the team. His moveset is self explanatory sooooo....
Tank- Nidoking
Another good mon. His stats are iffy, but his move pool is superb.Awesome coverage.
Revenge killer- Dugtrio
This guy... what a nuisance! Bring him into an electric pokemon that is choiced in some way, and the opponent basically loses. The arena trap prevents the electric pokemon from switching out and you're free to increase attack and accuracy using hone claws. After +2
you can 2HKO most of the opposition.
Shuffler/ RestTalk- Gyrados
Lol don't know why this set is in here, but it brings sttention to some pokemon we need. He's actually a wonderful rest talker, but with out hazards he is worthless. Also, due to the abundance of rain teams he can really turn into a powerhouse. Right now he is useless though haha.
Analysis: This is an awesome starting point, and with a little work it will be beautiful. Some sets and EV's need to be changed and some Pokemon need to be switched out. I'm going to start out with a Pokemon by Pokemon analysis of what I think should be changed. Remember, these are MY opinions so you don't have to listen to me.
Nidoking- When I played around with him I really liked him, but I feel like this spot could be better filled. We need some sort of a rocks setter, but we also need a spinner so that Dragonite's multiscale will not break. After 10 minutes I found Donphan. He is beautiful. Stealth rocks for hazards. Rapid spinning to blow hazards away. Ice shard for priority and finally earthquake for stab.
Mismagius- I liked her. Maybe a moving of the EV's could help, or a different pokemon that is similar. She did her job well as support, but in OU I prefer to have versatile pokemon. Let's face it. She can't hit hard enough. I can't think of a replacement at the moment.
Dragonite- I have no qualms about him.
Dugtrio- I LOVE him. So much fun using him. I'd stick with this set.
Gyrados-Bleh. With a layer of spikes and rocks he'd be useful, but without those changes he is usless.
Manectric- basically just a weaker thundorus. A obvious switch should be made.
Changes That Should Be Made:
1. A spinner rock setter and spikes(Skarmory and donphan)
2. Removal of Nidoking
3. Stronger form of mismagius
4. Switching out manectric for thundorus
5. possibly switching out Gyrados
