The new and improved Bronzong of UU. With its higher base stats and extra power,and a much greater movepool combined with the ability to run multiple sets,Metagross is sure to undermine Bronzong and transform the metagame entirely.After being under appreciated in OU due to pokes like the imfamous Jirachi,Skarmory,and Ferrothorn,Metagross finally gets a new home town to terrorize in.Its aility to setup Stealthrocks is good,but its ability to get multiple sets makes it unpredictable and can lead to the downfall of even the most experienced players who are not careful.Also with the removal of its biggest Steel type counters and the introduction of the imfamous Genesect metagross is sure to find away into someone's team.The only downfall is that Metagross hasn't gained to many new moves or sets over the transition to BW and BW2.But Metagross shall now be a feared force in UU with its ability to keep its top threats in check.

A standard lead set thats main focus is to set up Stealth Rocks for entry hazard support.With a Adamant nature and maximized attack Metagross gets an astounding 405 attack.Making it troublesome to counter under normal circumstances.Meteor Mash is the main STAB move herem2HKOing anything that doesn't resist it or have a naturally high defense.Earthquake hits Metagross' main counters such as Chandelure,Darmanitan,Houndoom,and Arcanine who would all be OHKOed by the new power of UUs Steel/Psychic poke.Hammer Arm does a respectable amount of damage to Porygon2 and Snorlax. Bullet Punch can be used for a decent prioity move as Metagross' low speed stat isn't anything special. With the multiple fighting types roaming UU,Zen Headbutt makes the perfect coverage move,daring Machamp and Heracross to try and KO.Lum Berry can be used for a No Guard Machamp's Dynamic Punch while Air Balloon adds a nice Ground resist.Leftovers can be used to gain extra health that may be needed.

A set that was effective in OU is even more dangerous in Metagross' grand transition to UU.The idea behind this set is usually a late game sweeper who takes everything out thats the remains of the game.After one Agility boost,Metagross outspeeds most of the UU metagame,mainly the pokes with a choice Scarf and 100 base speed or lower.These pokes include Metagross' main threats like Flygon,Hydreigon,Chandelure,and even Victini.After the Agility boost let the sweeping begin.Meteor Mash like always is the main STAB move,but be aware of it somewhat off accuracy and the chance of an occasional miss.Earthquake wrecks nearly all of Metagross' ,ain counters that thought they could outspeed.Ice Punch helps rid of Flygon with its 4X effectiveness and also does a tremendous amount of damage to Hydreigon. Thunder Punch can be used however to defeat the bulky waters like Milotic and Slowbro,who may otherwise completly wall this set and counter with Scald.Zen Headbutt OHKOs the fighting types who would love to try to defeat this set.The EVs allow for Metagross to outspeed the base 100 and below scarfers while maintaining a pretty decent attack stat.The extra EVs go into HP for added bulk.The item depends on the situation,with Air Balloon countering nearly all Flygon while Life Orb helps snag OHKOs that would otherwise be a 2HKO.

There are more sets to come as Metagross shows the UU tier who's boss.Metagross now completely dominates the game with the right conditions but it now has many new threats to worry about.Chandelure,Darmanitan,Houndoom,and Victini are the big threats that can easily rid of any Meagross,so a bulky water pokemon or a Thick Fat Snorlax with Pursuit may help.Porygon2 also helps Metagross counter Chandelure.Bulky waters while helpful to Metagross can completely stop it in it tracks with a well timed burn from Scald(unless Metagross has a Lum berry) or just by recovering their HP and then attacking.Sableye while looking easy to beat can burn all non Lum Berry Metagross sets with Will-o-Wisp or just simple use a taunt.So a good partner would be a Fire type like Chandelure.Also certain pokes that can trap and kill Metagross like Dugtrio should also be seen as pssible threats.However,like all pokes,the right support is needed as well as the perfect synergy for it to truly work.Enjoy using the new,more offensive bronzong of UU.
