| TyranitarStats:HP:100 Atk:134 Def:110 SpA:95 SpD:100 Spe:61 Total: 600 Placed Tier: (OU) Tiers In Which Usability Is Covered In This Analysis: OU Type: Rock / Dark Personally this thing is one my most loved pokemon, I mean if this thing gets pissed it destroys entire mountains and maps need to be redrawn. It's ability Sand Stream makes it great addition to any Sand Storm team and it has impressive stats in both Attack and Special Attack. Set #1: Mixed Ttar @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 252 HP / 180 SpAtk / 76 SpDef Sassy +SpDef, -Spd - Stealth Rock - Ice Beam/ Blizzard - Flamethrower/ Fire Blast - Crunch/ Pursuit This set was always my set of choice. You set Tyranitar and with Sand Stream it will summon a Sand Storm and increase it's Sp Def by 50% making it resist even water attacks! You can choose to begin attacking from the get go or set up Stealth Rock, I always recomend Stealth Rock because it can have dramatic changes to a battle's outcome. The Choice between the moves is difficult, the moves on the left side do good enough damage alone and have a safer feel, while the moves on the right provide more damage but are however much more risky and require a little more luck. The choice is yours. Set #2: Dragon DANCE @ Lum Berry/ Life Orb Trait: Sandstream/Unnerve EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd Jolly +Spd, -SpAtk - Dragon Dance - Stone Edge/ Rock Slide - Crunch - Earthquake/ Aqua Tail/ Ice Punch/ Fire Punch Yes Tyranitar learns Dragon Dance, the beast just got alot more beastly I agree. In the new Gen 5 I've noticed people dont expect this set whatsoever and with even 1 Dragon Dance I sometimes manage to sweep entire unprepared teams. The Choice between Rock Slide and Stone Edge is difficult..You can sacrifice power for accuracy or accuracy for power that decision depends on your personal preferances. The 4 last moves depend truely on your team about what it lacks and has. Fire Punch is mainly for pokemon like Ferrothorn and Scizor which can cause alot of trouble, however again it depends on your team. Also look out for scizor which with bullet punch can end your fun and put ttar in its tracks so look out!!! Also you can replace the Sand Stream for Unnerve if your team is unprepared for the dmg of the sand. Set#3: Choice Band @ Choice Band Trait: Sand Stream/Unnerve EVs: 252 HP / 36 Atk / 220 SpDef Adamant +Atk, -SpAtk - Stone Edge - Crunch/ Pursuit - Aqua Tail/ Superpower - Earthquake With a monstrous attack its no doubt Tyranitar makes an excellent Choice Bander, with what it lacks with coverage in this set it makes up with incredible dmg!!! Unlike other sets Ive posted Choice Band ttar needs Stone Edge due to it's immense need for attack, Rock Slide is still a valid option but is the inferior choice. Crunch provies basic STAB but however pursuit may be used instead to attack pokemon who attempt to switch.

I'd say band, scarf and spdef are the only good sets on him (but i've seen a really nice custom dragon dance/roar set, and i've seen a really nice custom ebelt set)
before B/W 2, the best spdef set hands down was
@Chople Berry Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpDef IVs: 17 Spe Sassy +SpDef, -Spd - Stealth Rock - Earthquake - Fire Blast - Pursuit
but with all the new mons in the meta, stone edge over earthquake seems like the way to go (maybe even ice beam over fire blast, to catch lando-t+roostglis on the switch in), but pursuit is necessary to give tyranitar the ability to trap lati@s, gengar, zam, espeon, things like that. 17 spe IVs and sassy nature get you to 129 spe if i recall correctly, which outslows any politoad or ninetails or anything (which guarantees your weather in some situations). chople allows you to take one supwerpower or focus blast with relative ease, enabling you to KO back.
your band set looks pretty strong, there's only a few things i would change.
@ Choice Band Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 104 hp / 252 atk / 158ish spe Adamant +Atk, -SpAtk - Stone Edge - Crunch - Pursuit - Superpower
first things first, max attack is necessary. second, a little bit of speed allows you to outspeed many things, like standard jellicent, most scizor iirc. i dont remember what it's for SPECIFICALLY, but 158ish speed EVs (whatever is left over after 104 hp and 252 atk) is strong as fuck. now, for it's moveset. Dark/Fighting is perfect coverage. Crunch and Superpower alone hit everything in existence for atleast neutral damage. Running Earthquake alongside Superpower is redundant, because they hit the same things. All you gain from EQ is hitting Jirachi/Tenta for more damage, which isn't as helpful as having Pursuit to trap, and Stone Edge to hit things like Dragonite/Gyara/Sala/Genies/More. Rock/Fighting coverage is perfect, which is why Terrakion is god. Combine that with Dark/Fighting, and you've got a perfect bandmon.
EDIT: oh, and a scarf looks like
@choice scarf 252 atk / 4 spdef / 252 spe jolly nature -pursuit -crunch -stone edge -superpower | |
