The powerful dragon of the dark that once terrorized OU has found a new home that it can rampage on without worry, the UU tier. With its old threats brawling it out in OU,it can now become the most dangerous threat to its new home.It has the major attack stats that allow it to rip any of its opponets to shreds, when combined with its powerful STAB and ability to get multiple elemental attacks Hydreigon is a poke that doesn't know the meaning of mercy. Its ability at wallbreaking is second to none now,and with its relatively fast speed(in UU terms) it can now sweep without much worry. There are some threats like Weavile and Mach Punch carriers that may hold Hydreigon up,but with the proper teammates,Hydreigon can destroy all that oppose it.

Dark Pulse /
Focus BlastHydreigon has so many moves that this set is often unpredictable.A Choice Scarf allows Hydreigon to outspeed most of the metagame, pokes like Choice Scarf Chandelure,Darmanitan, and even the infamous Choice scarf moxe Heracross are not safe. this set aims for a great late game sweeper and also a good poke to add VoltTurn momentum to a team.U-turn is a move that can play mind games with a opponent and allow you to gain the momentum in the game.Draco Meteor is a powerful move that can take out most pokes after Stealth Rocks.Dragon Pulse can be used instead as most of the time Hydreigon will have to switch out after a Draco Meteor(Note that the power difference will be noticeable).Fire Blast is a powerful move that hits Steel Types like Metagross who may try to wall this set but also Heracross, which is a common pokemon in the UU metagame nowadays.Flamethrower can be chosen over this if the accuracy versus power issue happens to pop up.Surf hits Darmanitan and Chandelure hard while Dark Pulse is a powerful STAB move that hits the ghost that litter UU hard.Focus Blast is here to hit pokes like Snorlax that may otherwise wall most sets. The EVs of this set is made for the highest amount of power and speed. This set also happens to fit on VoltTurn teams or Hyper offensive teams quite well.
Set#2-Choice Band
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
-
U-turn-
Outrage-
Crunch /
Zen Headbutt-
Earthquake /
Super Power This is a somewhat unusual set that aims to surprise physical walls and acts has a powerful physical wallbreaker. With a very usable 105 attack stat Hydreigon isn't at all weak in the physical department.U-turn is more powerful than usual that allows Hydreigon to switch out of incoming threats easily without worry.Outrage is the main STAB move wrecking all who do or do not resist it.Like Outrage on most dragons it has its pros and cons, mainly with its confusion hax.Crunch is a powerful secondary STAB move that hits a lot of different pokes for some good coverage with the exception of Steel and Fighting types.Zen Headbutt can be used however to surprise most fighting types that may wall this set.Earthquake hits all Steel types hard for some good coverage and also Rock tpyes. Super Power can be used for pokes like Snorlax who may want to setup.
This sets main idea is to supris all the special walls like Suicune and Virizion as well as Snorlax and Dusclops so use it wisely...
Set#3-SubDreigon
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 164 SDef / 92 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Substitute
-
Thunder Wave-
Roost-
Dragon Pulse /
Dark PulseThis set aims for a strange set that uses Hydreigons ability to force switches and to stop its faster threats via Thunder Wave. Most pokes and opponents who see Hydreigon automatically switch out at the fear of it and go into a counter that can stop Hydreigon. By the time they do that Hydreigon can easily setup a Sub and follow with a Thunder Wave for some nice paralysis. Roost allows Hydreigon to heal of its damage of Subs and other unforeseen damages. Dragon Pulse allows for some good STAB damage that allows for good coverage.Dark Pulse can be used combined with paralysis to get a flinch or parahax which allows for some nice memories of HaxRachi. This sets effectivness is suprisingly well and it odes well on defensive, stall, and standard teams.A bold nature can be used combined with 164 EVs in defense for a better physical side.
In the end Hydreigon's coverage allow it to take on all attacks from different sides that allow it to become a major threat. However like all threats it has some serious weaknesses.Choice scarf Flygon outspeeds and can OHKO with Outrage or attack with U-turn,Weavile and Hitmontop can attack with Iceshard or MachPunch respectivly. Good pokes that work well with Hydreigon include chandelure, who can take both Fighting and Ice ttacks, beware of Weavile however. Metagross can take fighting attacks and Ice attacks to an extent but hates Flygon with a passion. In the end there are multiple sets that Hydreigon can use that can easily shift the game to your side so put the dragon of the dark to good use..
